Masjid Yusof Ishak
The new Masjid Yusof Ishak opened its doors to the public in an opening ceremony held on 14 April 2017 which was officiated by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the wife of late President Mr Yusof bin Ishak, Puan Noor Aishah. Named after the First President of Singapore, late Mr Yusof bin Ishak, this mosque will be one of the bigger mosques out of the current 68 in Singapore and it will be able to accommodate 4,500 congregants. Occupying a 2,500sqm site along Woodlands Drive 17, the mosque’s design will be a blend of traditional mosque characteristics and Malay heritage, incorporating distinctive features of a tropical Malay house, such as overhangs and a verandah.
